There are many kinds of learning disability so everyone is different – some people need more help and support than others. Lots of people are there to help if you have a learning disability. One of the most important things the Valuing Medway People Partnership Board does is to get them all to work together so that you get the help you need.

Medway Council may be able to arrange social care for you. You should talk to your Care Manager If you are already receiving care and your needs have changed, or you have a problem.

New Carers Strategy is launched 10 June 2008
The Government has launched a new multi million pound strategy to support, help and improve the lives of Britain’s army of carers.
The Carers Strategy is underpinned by £255 million to implement some immediate steps alongside with medium and long-term plans.

Medway Carers' Centre is a local service that takes a holistic view of the service users family carers of across a wide age range of adults and children.
The service aims to provide, empower and encourage carers in all aspects of their family caring role, and to maintain their effectiveness in that role, by offering on-going support.
The ethos of the Centre is to consult with its service users, and to respond to their needs.
